Colt did not believe in throwing useful material away. In the case of this revolver, the cylinder was for an army contract but failed inspection. Rather than throwing it away, it was re-numbered and used on a civilian revolver that did not suffer from close inspection.
Condition: bore is strong and bright, barrel retains 30% bright blue, cylinder and back strap 10%, frame has 20% case colors fading, 20% silver left on trigger guard, excellent mechanically, excellent marks,
